Jack Cannon is a lighting and production designer with seven years of experience in performing arts, including five years of experience in professional theatre. Jack has received international recognition and honors for his designs and development of Artificial Intelligence for lighting control. He has designed lighting for film and video, theatre, architecture, dance, corporate, and music. He is a member of the Illinois Theatre Association, and a member of the International Thespian Society. In 2019 and 2020 he earned design awards at the International Thespian Festival. Also in 2020, Jack's work as an executive producer on the short film Why We Protest earned him a nomination at the Burbank International Film Festival in the Films Made From Home category. In 2021, Jack won the Clay Paky Collegiate Design and Programming Contest. His recent work includes lighting design for the world premiere of Ed Asner’s God Help Us, associate project management for Cartier’s Los Angeles install of Clash De Cartier, lighting direction for Billie Eilish’s Disney+ Premiere of A Love Letter To Los Angeles, lighting programming for the 2021 Clash of Clans & Clash Royale World Championship, assistant technical direction for the Gucci Love Parade, and more. He has led lighting design workshops at the Indiana State Thespian Festival, the Illinois Community Theatre Festival, and the Illinois High School Theatre Festival. Additionally, Jack has adjudicated the Thespian Excellence Awards in multiple states. Jack is the founder of Cann Light Productions, an entertainment design and production firm with expertise in a multitude of design fields. He currently attends the California Institute of the Arts and is expected to graduate in 2024.
