Jack Cannon


Jack Cannon is an award-winning lighting designer and producer with seven years of experience in performing arts, including five years of experience in professional theatre. Jack has received international recognition and honors for his designs and development of Artificial Intelligence for lighting control. He has designed lighting for film and video, theatre, architecture, dance, and music. He is a member of the Illinois Theatre Association, and a member of the International Thespian Society. Jack's designs for the licensed productions of Rent and Jasper in Deadland earned him awards at the International Thespian Festival. His recent theatrical work includes the world premieres of God Help Us, Silent Night, and Nevermore. Jack's work as an executive producer on the short film Why We Protest earned him a nomination at the Burbank International Film Festival in the Films Made From Home category. He has led lighting design workshops at the Indiana State Thespian Festival, the Illinois Community Theatre Festival, and the Illinois High School Theatre Festival. Additionally, Jack has adjudicated the Thespian Excellence Awards in multiple states. In 2020, Jack founded Cann Light Productions, a multi-faceted design and production company that has led designs for a multitude of productions and installations. Jack graduated as a junior from Waubonsie Valley High School in June of 2020. He currently attends the California Institute of the Arts studying for a BFA in Experience Design and Production, he is expected to graduate in May of 2024. *March 2021 Bio*
